Research & Development


CIAT devotes around 5% of its turnover to its Research, Innovation and Development functions

The Research and Innovation department works closely with the marketing and development teams in order to anticipate the requirements and technologies of tomorrow. Its research programmes enable CIAT to play a leading role in its fields of expertise and to develop increasingly efficient products.

The CIAT laboratories cover a surface area of more than 4,500 m² and are equipped with test platforms that are unique in Europe.

The Research and Innovation centre is held in high esteem by international research programmes. It allows CIAT to develop a particularly strong network of partners (industrials at universities or technical centres).

The research and innovation department is structured around four main sectors:

  • Energy aiming to develop efficient heat exchangers and highly effective machines.
  • Quality of interior environments involving the simulation of the integration of our materials and the assessment of the impact on the health and comfort of individuals.
  • Networked electronic systems responsible for the development of efficient controllers for optimised operation of systems without compromising on their reliability. This also guarantees the consistency of our communication protocols and their interoperability with the Building Management System.
  • Scientific and test support management offers support to the other sectors in order to optimise characterisation tests and is responsible for our relations with the entire profession (EUROVENT, CETIAT, UNICLIMA, NF PAC).

Purification algorithm combining a fine particle sensor with comfort units equipped with the Epure Dynamics® function.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY >> COMFORT LINE
Condensate drain pan for composite materials whose shape minimises water retention, reduces air bypass and keeps the coil out of water.

ENERGY OPTIMISATION >> REFRIGERATION UNIT
Dual-phase distribution system for a shell and tube evaporator allowing the evaporation temperature to be standardised and increased. This new technology is notably used in the Powerciat2 and allows an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) increase of 4 to 6% to be achieved.
